Sunday Shopping Trip 8/28

So when I went to Bi-lo on Friday, I went to the one near my Mom's house. And they were wiped out of the Velveeta Skillet Dinners (They are similiar to Hamburger Helper...They are great for me and the kids when my husband is working - they love them.)
So i got a raincheck (which you should ALWAYS get if they are out of what you want) and figured I would pick them up next weekend when i did my shopping.
However looking at the Kroger matchup, I decided to head out early this morning. They had Gillette body wash for $1.99 and I had a $2 off coupon which makes it FREE for you math nerds. And they had several other things I decided to pick up since I was going there. They are having a Buy-4-participating-items-get-$4-off on Procter and Gamble products. (which is where the body wash came in.)
So i had 4 coups for the body wash and my husband JUST opened his last bottle yesterday so off I headed. After debating if I really even wanted to go. And another few minutes would have caused me grief...Here's why:

There isn't a Kroger that is close by where we live. It's 30 minutes or so away and there are TWO that are within 5 miles of each other. One is in a not so great part of town, the other is in the "better" part of town. I try not to go to the not so great one if I can help it. So i headed to "my" Kroger. My 4 year old Alyson tagged along with me (hoping she would be able to get a treat - i can never deny them! :). I grabbed my buggy and instantly went to the body wash, because seriously, if you don't get there early on the first day of the sale, you might as well not go. And what did I find? 5 body wash left on the shelf (where  around 30 had been when they opened, im sure). So i quickly grabbed my 4. As i was heading back down the aisle, a girl passed me and i heard "Of COURSE they are sold out! UGHHHH!" I turned around to see her taking the last one off the shelf and turned around to find an employee and complain for more. I didn't stick around to find out if they were able to get any more.

I did see her later in the store, as she passed by me with my large coupon binder said "Ive got the same thing!" and pointed to her binder. Yeah. Okay lady.

Did i mention this was 10:00 in the morning, on the day of the sale, and they were now out of the body wash...A man did pass by me at one point and put his hand on my buggy and said "Where did you find those body wash?!" I explained to him that i got them off the shelf. He stated that someone had cleared the shelf of 50 they had at the other store. So sad. Of course he tried to give me an earful, but i walked off. My child doesn't need to hear it.

Couponing etiquette people! If you are going to purchase 20 or more of something, or enough of something that you know you're going to clear a shelf or close to it, please call the store and arrange for them to order more to accommodate you. That way, the other 20 people who only want 2 or 3 are able to get theirs.
Anyway, i was able to get everything I wanted:

4 bags of Kroger frozen veggies = $1 each
1 box of Toddler oatmeal = Clearanced to $.89
1 Lipsmacker = $1.40 (my daughter requested this. Shes such a girly girl.)
5 Hot Wheels matchbox car = $.79 each
2 Febreze Air Effects = $1.99 - $1 coupon = $.99
2 Old Spice deodorants = $.99 each
2 Aussie products (shampoo and conditioner) = $1.77 - $1 coupon = $.77 each
2 Land of Lakes butter = $1.69 - $.80 coupon = $.89 each
4 Gillette body wash = $1.99 - $2.00 coupon = $.04 credit
2 Febreze Set and Refresh = $1.99 - $1.00 coupon = $.99 each
2 Pampers 72 count wipes = $2.49 - $2.00 coupon = $.49 each

TOTAL: $39.83
PAID: $22.66

So i decided to stop by my Bi-lo and see if they had any of the Velveeta Skillet Dinners in stock. They did, yayyyyyy.
So i got my 6 boxes. BOGO at $2.39 - $1.00 coupon = $.19 each!
TOTAL: $14.34
PAID: $1.14

Im willing to help anyone who wants to get started!

Amanda
